Good to know.
What should I have ready before asking for an estimate?
A few photos of the space, rough dimensions if you have them, a list of must-haves, and any inspiration images. A budget range helps too, even if it’s approximate.
How do I get a free estimate?
Use the Free Estimate form or email [email protected]. We’ll follow up to learn more and talk through the next steps.
How long does a renovation take?
It depends on scope. A like-for-like update is much quicker than a full gut or a new layout, and lead times for items like cabinets, counters, tile and fixtures often set the overall schedule. We’ll give you a clearer picture once we understand your project.
Do I need a permit?
Cosmetic updates generally don’t need one. Structural changes, adding a bathroom, changing drain and vent piping, and finishing a basement can. Requirements vary between municipalities across the GTA, so it’s worth confirming with your local building department early.
Can a full-home renovation be done in phases?
Yes. Many homeowners phase work by floor or by area to manage budget and keep part of the home usable. We’ll talk through what makes sense for your project.
Can we live at home during the renovation?
It depends on the scope and the phasing. Work affecting kitchens, bathrooms or main systems can make the home hard to live in for a period.
How should we approach budgeting?
Start with your priorities and a realistic range, then keep a contingency for conditions that only show up once walls and floors are opened.
My basement feels damp. Can it still be finished?
Often, but the cause should be found and addressed first. Finishing over an unresolved moisture problem usually leads to bigger repairs later.
Do I need approval from my condo board or management?
Usually, yes. Most condo corporations require approval before renovation work, especially for flooring, plumbing and anything affecting common elements. Check your declaration and rules, and contact management early.
